How much will the new wireless smoke detector cost?

NEW YORK — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is warning consumers to expect more price increases for their wireless smoke detectors, according to a report.

The CSPC is expected to release its final report on wireless smoke alarms on Tuesday.

The report is expected “to show that wireless smoke alarm prices will increase by an average of 2.7% in 2020 compared to 2019,” the report said.

It was expected to include the prices of the smoke detectors currently sold, as well as those that are in the works.
